At Salisbury Academy, the arts are an essential part of how students discover their voices, express their ideas, and engage with the world around them.
Beginning in 3K through 8th grade, students experience a rich foundation in both visual art and music, with regular classes that nurture creativity, confidence, and skill development. Students also have frequent opportunities to share their talents through weekly chapel performances and special events such as Grandpersons Day, where they build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and experience the joy of presenting their work to a supportive community. Through hands-on exploration and guided instruction, students learn to think creatively, take risks, and find joy in the process of creating.
As students grow, so do their opportunities. In the Upper School, artistic exploration expands through a variety of immersions and electives, including experiences such as pottery, photography, chorus, and theatre set design. These opportunities allow students to dive deeper into their interests while developing both technical skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
Beyond the school day, Salisbury Academy offers a vibrant selection of after-school arts programming and clubs, where students can continue to explore their passions—whether through singing, acting, or creating original works. Our school community also comes together through theatre productions, with recent performances including Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr. and The Trial of Goldilocks, giving students the opportunity to collaborate, perform, and shine on stage.
The arts are a vital part of the Jaguar Journey, supporting the development of the whole child. Through artistic expression, students build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and develop empathy and resilience. These experiences not only enrich their education but also help shape them into creative thinkers and compassionate leaders.
At Salisbury Academy, we believe the arts are not just an enrichment—they are a powerful pathway to discovering who our students are and who they are becoming.
