Salisbury Academy's main building houses grades kindergarten through eighth and is located at 2210 Jake Alexander Boulevard North. Situated on a ten-acre campus, this facility has state-of-the-art classrooms, media center, music room, gymnasium, soccer field, an extensive outdoor learning and play space, picnic shelter, and administrative offices. The Early Education Building is located at 1801 Bellevue Road and houses Salisbury Academy's 3K and junior kindergarten classes.

Grades 9-12 are housed at 316 Depot Street. This downtown location empowers students to leverage the many resources the community has to offer. Strong examples of business, art, government, nonprofit opportunities, along with libraries and parks are all at the students’ fingertips.

3K: 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (Friday dismissal: 1:05 p.m.)
Junior Kindergarten: 8:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. (Friday dismissal: 1:05 p.m.)
Kindergarten: 8:05 a.m. - 2:55 p.m. (Friday dismissal: 1:05 p.m.)
Lower School (Grades 1-4): 8:05 a.m. - 2:55 p.m. (Friday dismissal 1:05 p.m.)
Middle School (Grades 5-8): 8:05 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. (Friday dismissal 1:20 p.m.)
Upper School (Grades 9-12): 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Friday dismissal 1:30 p.m.)

Early Release Fridays:  Students are dismissed early each Friday while teachers utilize this time for professional development. 3K and JK will dismiss at 1:05 p.m., kindergarten at 1:15 p.m., grades 1-4 dismiss at 1:05 p.m., and grades 5-8 dismiss at 1:20 p.m. Grades 9-11 dismiss at 1 p.m.

The curriculum seeks to develop essential skills consistent with the academy’s mission. Salisbury Academy is a Core Knowledge school (Learn more about Core Knowledge at SA). The school embraces the Core Knowledge Sequence which includes a hands-on approach to learning, as well as character and moral development. The curriculum exceeds state standards, and includes reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign language, art, computer, music, physical education, health, and character development. Our students have opportunities to experience lessons taught beyond the classroom through a multitude of off-campus adventures. Field trips are a vital way to enhance, enrich, and expand the classroom learning.

To maximize each child’s achievement and help teachers deliver on-target instruction, Salisbury Academy students in grades 3-8 take the Educational Records Bureau Comprehensive Testing Program, 5th edition (ERB-CTP5 online). The CTP-5 is a rigorous test battery designed specifically to serve the needs of high achieving schools that aspire to higher standards. Students at the strongest independent schools in the country take this assessment.  

All SA Upper School students take the PSAT in their 9th through 11th grade years. Courses are ordered across the four years to assure students have the content knowledge and skills necessary to achieve at their personal best on SAT and ACT assessments by their 11th and 12th grade years. Students may elect to take one or both of these assessments at SA.

Students should turn 4 by August 31 for junior kindergarten and turn 5 by August 31 for kindergarten.

The Board of Trustees strives for socio-economic diversity, and therefore provides a tuition assistance program.  Salisbury Academy enlists the help of Independent School Management's FACTS to provide a need-based financial analysis of our tuition assistance applicants. Salisbury Academy provides financial aid on the basis of demonstrated family financial need. We follow the procedures of FACTS to determine the family’s ability to pay tuition. All information is confidential and every effort is made to meet the financial need of the applicant.  

Athletics are an integral part of the Salisbury Academy program. Students in grades 5-12 participate in organized sports (golf, volleyball, basketball, soccer, tennis, flag football, track and field, cheerleading), and track/field and cheerleading programs are offered to the lower and middle school students. All students are encouraged through our daily activities, PE program, and Upper School wellness programs to develop a healthy respect for exercise, nutrition, competition and sportsmanship.

Students have access to laptops and Chromebooks for meaningful integration of technology. A laptop cart, Chromebook cart, SMART Boards, and Document Cameras are available for individual classroom use. Our Technology Plan is reviewed annually.

We have an excellent staff in place to work with your children. Good education is a partnership, and this partnership depends on good communication which is two-way and meaningful. Teachers confer with the parents of each student at the end of the first reporting period. Additional conferences are initiated as needed by teachers or parents. Parents are encouraged to contact their child’s teacher when they have concerns or questions.

The mission of Salisbury Academy is evident in all facets of school life.  Fulfilling the mission will require a firm commitment on the part of all those involved in the life of our school. For admission to and continued enrollment in the school, the following is expected of parents:
